F The Performance of Error and Outage Capacity in SIMO and MISO FSO Links

چکیده
In spite of the several technical advantages of a freespace optical (FSO) communication, atmospheric turbulence can severely degrade the performance of a FSO link, because it creates random fluctuations in the phase and the amplitude of the received signal. The simultaneous usage of multiple transmit/receive apertures (MIMO) can mitigate the fading effects, that is particularly crucial for strong turbulent channels. However comparing to SIMO and MISO schemes, MIMO system it has more complexity and less applicability. In this paper, we investigate the performance of symbol-error-rate (SER) and outage capacity in FSO links with Q-Ary Pulse Position Modulation (PPM) in these schemes, both in the weak and strong turbulence conditions. Our results show that in a defined received energy per bit, employing diversity and adding the number of resources at the receiver end is more efficient than the transmitter both in the weak and strong atmospheric turbulence scenarios.

Impacts of the Negative-exponential and the K-distribution modeled FSO turbulent links on the theoretical and simulated performance of the distributed diffusion networks
Merging the adaptive networks with the free space optical (FSO) communication technology is a very interesting field of research because by adding the benefits of this technology, the adaptive networks become more efficient, cheap and secure. This is due to the fact that FSO communication uses unregistered visible light bandwidth instead of the overused radio spectrum. However, in spite of all ...

To increase the transmission rate without bandwidth expansion, the multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO) technique has recently been attracting much attention. The MIMO channel capacity in a cellular system is affected by the interference from neighboring co-channel cells. In this paper, we introduce the cellular channel capacity and evaluate its outage capacity, taking into account the frequen...

The aim of this paper is to fully analyze the effects of free space optical (FSO) communication links on the estimation performance of the adaptive incremental networks. The FSO links in this paper are described with two turbulence models namely the Log-normal and Gamma-Gamma distributions. In order to investigate the impact of these models we produced the link coefficients using these distribu...
